Austin's Salt Crystals

On Monday Austin bought some salt crystals to share for news. Below is the explanation he gave to the class on how he made them.

I made these crystals. It took two weeks to make them. I used two cups the same size, water, table salt and some string. We put the string inside the water with salt in it. The water went up the string and left the salt on the string.

Discovery

Discovery time on Friday mornings continues to be one of Room 2's favourite activities. This term's focus is all about participating and contributing. Check out some of the great fun and learning we have been taking part in.

Amby the Ambulance

On Thursday the 28th of August, Amby the Ambulance and Kathryn from St John visited Room's 1, 2 and 3, and taught us some basic first aid skills. We had lots of fun and even practised our bandaging and making 111 calls during Discovery time on Friday.

Shapes in the Playground.

This term we are learning about geometry. We went on a shape hunt in the playground and sketched the shapes we could see. Have a look at our photos and see if you can see some shapes too. Our sandpit has 8 sides- do you know what shape it is?

100 Days Party!

On Friday 25th July we celebrated 100 Days of learning. Rooms 1 and 2 have been counting every school day since the beginning of the year and we celebrated together by completing lots of different activities involving the number 100. Check out the photos below of us celebrating being 100 days smarter!

Welcome back for Term 3!

Room 2 are excited to welcome five students who have moved up from Room 1. We look forward to having lots of fun learning experiences together.

Welcome Miss Reissmann

Room 2 were very lucky to have Helga Reissmann in our class for weeks 8 and 9 of Term 2. Helga is a first year student teacher who has been doing observations and helping in Room 2. We have enjoyed having her with us.
