Studyladder.

The students in Room 2 have been learning to use Studyladder in class. Studyladder is an educational website where teachers can create accounts for students and set tasks that support current learning. Room 2 have been completing maths activities that involve counting backwards, finding missing numbers, adding to 10, and solving 10 + problems. We have also been looking at the 'at' word family in phonics.

This week Room 2 were given a note with a username and login so they can access their account at home. This is glued into the front cover of their homework notebook. You can access Studyladder through the link below. Please let Mrs Diack know if you have any problems.

Congratulations Georgia M. for gaining a Silver Certificate for earning 250 points by completing tasks. Great work!

Discovery Lemonade!

Last Friday during discovery we made lemonade as Mrs Diack had too many lemons on her lemon tree. Karma, Blaze and Pasquel were great at cutting and juicing the lemons, and measuring sugar and water. Rooms 1, 2 and 3 were thirsty after all the activities they had been doing and enjoyed the yummy lemonade drink.

The Big Numbers Song

Below is a link to The Big Numbers Song on YouTube that Room 1 and 2 love to sing. Have fun singing it at home!

Tomato Sauce

During discovery every Friday we have a group that works hard in our class gardens. We had so many tomatoes in our garden that we thought it would be a great idea to make tomato sauce. Mrs Diack brought the extra ingredients and lots of us helped to cut tomatoes, onions and garlic, peel and grate apples, and to measure in sugar, salt and malt vinegar. We also added some parsley from our class garden. Room 2 smelled amazing as the sauce bubbled in the pot. The following Friday we cooked sausages and ate our tomato sauce with sausage and bread. Yum!

Milk in Schools

Room 2 love being part of the Milk in Schools programme. Every day after lunch we can choose if we would like to have a cold carton of milk to drink while our teacher shares a story with us. Amelia and Kody are our Milk Monitors and collect the milk from the fridge. We are becoming experts at folding the cartons and posting them into the milk bins.
